Jerusalem is considered as third most Holy place for Muslims and for Jews Jerusalem is the holiest city. It is one of the oldest cities in the world. Jerusalem never saw peace since the time it was inhabited by people. It was besieged 23 times and attacked 52 times. Reason for this is, it considered Holy to three Major religions of the world.

After 1967 six days war between Arabs and Israel, Israel captured East Jerusalem and annexed it. However, this annexation is never recognized by the international community. After annexation Israel made Jerusalem it's Capital. Israeli law prohibits Palestine from carrying any kind of activities in Jerusalem. However, Palestinian Authority sees the eastern sector as its capital.

On Friday Israel arrests Minister of Jerusalem affairs Fadi al Hidmi and on Sunday Israel’s forces arrested Governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith after raiding into his house. Israel has arrested him on the charge of violating an Israeli ban on Palestinian Political activities in East Jerusalem.

A video circulated on social media of Governor of Jerusalem escorted out of his house by Police.

Adnan Gathi's lawyer, Rami Othman, said: "Ghaith who was taken for questioning, was arrested primarily due to Palestinian movement related to the coronavirus outbreak."
