Elites Supremacy in Pakistan

Pakistan is a country where most of the people are unable to get even the basic necessities of life including shelter, food and clothing. These things are the part of slogans of almost every political party before coming into governance but once they become a part of the government, I don’t know why they forget all these things. There are two extreme scenarios in our country. Some people are very rich, and some are very poor. It seems that the rich elite is the sole owner of this country. There are no rules and regulations for them. This rich elite comprises of 5 to 10 families. You must think sometime why after a sometimes crisis came in our country. Crisis can be in the shape of wheat shortage, sugar shortage and oil shortage. But no one knows the exact answer of this question. These rich elites play a very technical game. They take subsidies from the governments on behalf of the fact that they are exporting the goods including sugar and wheat. But in fact, they are not exporting these things they are just black marketing them and take subsidies from the government. A very bold decision by the Prime Minister of Pakistan to expose these people publicly.
You will be familiar with these families but just see the subsidy they got in the recent years you will be amazed

The first group was RYK group which has 4 sugar mills owned by Makhdoom Umar Shehryar(a relative of federal minister Khusro Bakhtiar), Chaudry Munir of the opposition PML-N and Monis Elahi of PML-Q they take a subsidy of 3.944 billion during 2015-18

The second group was Mr Tareen’s companies who availed subsidy of 561 million

The third group was Omni Group obtained export subsidy of 901 million

According to the Report about the Scam that published yesterday

“Exporters get benefits in two ways first they were able to gain subsidy and second they made a profit from increasing sugar prices in the local market, the price increased from Rs 55 per kg in December 2018 to RS 71.44 in June 2019, although the GST increase was implemented from July 2019”

 

Now the next phase of this procedure is very important. This will be the implementation phase i.e. to penalize these rich elites according to the Law. This is an ideal thing which never happens before in this country i.e. Rich elite never got penalty in this country. But let’s hope the things got to change.
