Times when Pakistan Claimed Hat Trick in Test Cricket

In Cricket, a hat-trick is a special occasion where a bowler in three consecutive deliveries takes three wickets, dismissing three different batsmen. As of February 2020, Hat Trick is achieved 45 times in more than 2000 matches in the longest format of cricket [International Test Matches]. The first of its kind was recorded on 2 January 1879 in history of Test Cricket, in only the third Test match to take place, by the Australian pace bowler Fred Spofforth, nicknamed "The Demon Bowler", who dismissed three English batsmen with consecutive deliveries at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The most the recent hat-trick was taken by Pakistan's pace bowler Naseem Shah against Bangladesh in February 2020.

1.           Wasim Akram in Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka                                                 

Wasim Akram is a coach and former cricketer, captain of Pakistan national cricket team. He is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest bowlers of all time. A left-arm fast bowler who could bowl with significant pace, he represented the Pakistan cricket team in Test cricket and One Day International (ODI) matches. In October 2013, Wasim Akram was the only Pakistani cricketer to be named in an all-time Test World XI to mark the 150th anniversary of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.He was first Pakistani pacer to ever take a hattrick in test cricket on 6 March 1999 in Asian Test Championship match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore by taking wickets of Romesh Kaluwitharana (c Moin Khan), Niroshan Bandaratilleke (b), Pramodya Wickramasinghe (b) in a breathtaking spell.

1. 2      Wasim Akram In Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka  

The 2^nd times to achieve the honour was also the Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram at the Finale of Asian Test Championship at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on 14 march 1999 by tacking the wickets of Avishka Gunawardene (c Shahid Afridi), Chaminda Vaas (b), Mahela Jayawardene (c Wajahatullah Wasti).

1. 3.       Abdul Razzaq In Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka

The former Pakistani All-Rounder who represented Pakistan in all formats of cricket, famously known for his aggressive batting style in white ball cricket took a hattrick at Galle International Stadium, Galle on Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka 2^nd test match of 3 match series on 21 June 2000. He achieved the milestone by sending the following players to pavilion Romesh Kaluwitharana (c Moin Khan), Rangana Herath (lbw), Ravi Pushpakumara (lbw).

Mohammad Sami is the former Fast bowler who represented in Pakistan in all formats of the game for several years and is considered the fastest bowler in history of Pakistan after Shoaib Akhter and Waqar Younus. He is also the first  bowler to take a Hattrick in all formats of the game. He delivered a stunner to achieve this milestone by Knocking out Charitha Buddhika (lbw), Nuwan Zoysa (lbw), Muttiah Muralitharan (b) in a Test match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 8 march 2002 during Final clash of Asian Test Championship 2001/02.

1. 5.       Naseem Shah In Pakistan Vs Bangladesh

Naseem Shah is a new cricketing sensation who represents Pakistan in the longest format of the game debuting in ICC Test Championship match vs Australia on Pakistan Tour of Australia 2019. The young bowler claimed a Hattrick vs Bangladesh during the 2^nd  innings of  Bangla tigers in the first match of 2 match series hosted by Pakistan to become the youngest fast bowler to take a Hattrick in the history of cricket. In a sensational spell in session 3 of day 3, he claimed the wickets of the following Nazmul Hossain Shanto (lbw), Taijul Islam (lbw), Mahmudullah Riyad (c Haris Sohail) on 9^th February 2020.
