The Pakistani government has announced that the Turkish drama serial Ertugrul will be aired on state TV from the first of Ramadan. In response to a question, Banuri Jamia has issued a fatwa saying that it is haraam to watch any drama. Prime minister Imran Khan has mentioned this play in several speeches and now the government has announced that the drama will be aired on official TV from Ramadan. A fatwa was issued on the question by Allama Muhammad Yusuf Banuri of Umayyad Banuri, who said, "It is not right to use illegitimate means to achieve any legitimate goal. Literature and books can be used to attain knowledge about the Ottoman Empire, for which it is not permissible to make and watch films, dramas. Also, if the corruption mentioned in the question is also found in it, then this abomination prevails over it. ” An old Fatwa was also quoted by Allama which says that " It is not permissible to watch the said drama or any other drama or film." Also, the programs on TV are generally filled with music, dancing, indulgence, so encouraging the viewing of such programs (as well as showing a photo of the beast), publishing pornography is not permissible.
